Steel is ending. Powder is coming.
A Fallout-style RPG about the last years of the sword. Trade, forge and fight across Catalonia to find the man who raised you, and the island where he is held.
Alvaro was raised by a blacksmith who taught him three things: how to forge, how to count money and how to fight with a blade. He comes of age just as the world stops listening to blades.
Ten days ago his grandfather Xavier rode out to meet an old friend and never came back. The people asking about him work for a cardinal. The trail runs through taverns, toll gates, bandit camps and a smugglers' guild, and ends at sea, on an island no ship is allowed to reach.
A breastplate was tested with a pistol shot. If the ball left only a dent, the dent became the armorer's mark of quality. That is where the word “bulletproof” comes from. In this game you will forge that breastplate, then watch a musket ball go through it.
Each step of the story can be solved by the sword, by money or by the hammer. None of them is a dead end.

Twenty-three goods and ten towns that need different things. Buy salt in Tarragona, sell it in Vic. Prices move with supply, war and rumours, and your wagon decides how much you can carry.

Buy blueprints, gather iron and coal, and make your own rapier and breastplate in your grandfather's workshop. Better steel is still steel: it slows a ball, it does not stop it.

Real-time battles you can pause at any moment. A rapier reaches one step, a musket reaches across the field but takes long to reload. Hire up to five companions, each with a past and a reason to leave you.

Sea traffic to Mallorca is closed by order of the cardinal. Buy a ship, build one at the Barcelona yard, or win one as a prize at the royal tournament.
The map is Catalonia as it was in 1690: a war with France in its second year, a dying king in Madrid, and every town arguing about what comes next.

The prologue is told in six engravings: the night a stranger came for something Alvaro's father brought back from America.
